We created this introduction short for DC4SI to help them convey the idea that there isn’t a finite definition for what “Social Innovation” means, but rather it can mean whatever someone can dream up.

Video coverage for the first annual TEDx UOIT conference held at the Regent Theatre.

In January of this year, LWM provided the video webcasting coverage of University of Ontario Institute of Technology’s first annual TEDxUOIT conference. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At TEDxUOIT, TEDTalks video and live speakers were combined to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including TEDxUOIT, are self-organized, in this case by SIFE UOIT (Students In Free Enterprise). The theme for the 2011 year was “Ideas for a Sustainable Future.”

Election promotional video for a local Oshawa City Councillor candidate.

We were asked by Jesse Cullen to create a promotional video for Jesse to use as a campaign tool as he ran for Oshawa City Councillor. Along with conveying his strategy, this video created exposure and publicity toward his campaign. Although unsuccessful in running, Jesse went from a fairly unknown local politician, to receiving more ballots than some of the mayoral candidates. We applaud Jesse for his efforts, and look forward to working with him again next election.

Documentary coverage and album art creation for a talented local musician.

Josh Kvasnak, a good friend and talented musician from the Greater Toronto Area approached us as he was about to release his official debut album, “The Perfect Flaw.” We were asked to document the process of building the set for his album cover photo shoot, the video below is the result.

Due to the weather and other unforeseen circumstances, the photos taken that day were never used for the cover. After this was decided, we went into the studio, shot the final artwork, and designed the final template.

Here’s some more videos of Josh Kvasnak and the crew.

We create videos for Church on the Hill for special events and special occasions. The above video was created as a part of their 75th anniversary celebrations.
Since a lot of church members of Church on the Hill head down south during the winter months, it was necessary for us to broadcast services live on the web, as well as post each Sunday sermon on YouTube, so each member can be connected, regardless of distance.
For more videos, check out the YouTube channel.

A few years ago, I created a video for Bob Henderson, the outdoor education professor at McMaster University. Bob was looking to gain exposure of the canoe-tripping program that he runs, where students learn how to live on the land, in secluded Northern Ontario

The above video was a promotional short that was created from the seven days worth of filming. It was a very interesting experience, as there was no power. We charged batteries by generator some nights, and conserved as much as possible.
